How to get to Rennes

Rennes is located in the heart of Brittany. Rennes is the capital of Brittany, a one-of-akind region in the west of France. Located two hours from Paris and one hour from Le Mont St Michel, Rennes is a lively, attractive, affordable and safe city.

You can get there by:

  •  Plane: Rennes is connected to Paris and several European cities.

From Rennes Bretagne airport (http://www.rennes.aeroport.fr/en/ ), located just 15 minutes from town, one can conveniently reach the historical centre by taxi or by means of bus no. 57 (every 20 minutes). Rennes currently has several daily flights to Paris, Lyon and Marseilles, and weekly flights to London or other European Cities: Cork/Rennes and Dublin/Rennes, with Aer Lingus; Exeter/Rennes, London/Rennes, Manchester/Rennes and Southampton/Rennes with Flybe; Barcelona/Rennes with Vueling.

  • Train: Fast Trains (TGV) will bring you to Rennes in 3 hours from Charles de Gaulle airport and in 2 hours from Paris (Montparnasse Train station). At least one train an hour links the city to Paris.

  • Ferry : Surrounded on three of its four sides by the sea, the ferry is an obvious option for coming to Brittany from the UK and Ireland. Either with your own car, caravan or motorhome or perhaps as a foot passenger, there are two main points of entry: St-Malo and Roscoff.

  • Car: Rennes is well communicated by excellent freeways.
